Coastal Farm Marquee Weddings Above the Pacific at Taiharuru, Whangārei
Clay Bank
Clay Bank is a coastal farm wedding venue at Taiharuru, about half an hour east of Whangārei where the farmland runs down to the Pacific. It is built around a permanent marquee looking out over the water, so the view carries the day whatever the weather does. Couples can marry outdoors on the farm with the ocean behind them, and the marquee is on hand as a backup that keeps the same outlook. It is a serious bit of kit, a German-made HTS Tentiq structure with a white ceiling, clear sides that can come off and a build rated to stand up to a proper Northland blow. The marquee seats up to 150. Bookings come with exclusive use of the property from the day before through to midday the day after, so there is time to set up and wind down without rushing. Anita, the event director, is on site to keep things running alongside your own coordinator. It suits couples after a relaxed coastal farm wedding with room to move and the whole place to themselves.
