The Heke

The Heke sits in four acres of gardens at Onetangi, part restaurant, part brewery and distillery, on the flat valley floor of Waiheke's eastern end. The setting is green and unhurried, and the whole site can be given over to a wedding. Ceremonies work among the gardens or under cover, and the Barrel Hall handles the reception with its own bar and bathrooms, seating around sixty for dinner or holding more for a stand up celebration. The restaurant opens out to the outdoors for a relaxed flow between eating, drinking and dancing. Catering and drinks are handled in house, with the day priced as a venue hire fee plus a minimum spend on food and beverages. It suits couples after a laid back garden wedding with good food and a craft bar close at hand.
