The Stables Matakana

The Stables sits within Matakana Country Park, a dedicated events venue in the heart of the region's wine country and about fifty minutes north of Auckland. It is given over exclusively to weddings and celebrations rather than shared with day visitors. Ceremonies take place in the Secret Garden, and the reception moves into the dining room, a rustic space of long macrocarpa tables, a stone fireplace and wrought iron chandeliers that seats up to a hundred and twenty. The team sets the furniture and dresses the tables to suit each couple. Both indoor and outdoor spaces are on hand, so the weather need not dictate the day. It suits couples after a rustic country wedding with a private garden and a warm dining hall close by.
