Taranaki Pioneer Village

Taranaki Pioneer Village is a heritage park on State Highway 3 at the south end of Stratford, run as a living museum of colonial buildings brought together from around the region. Several of those buildings are set up for weddings. Couples can marry in the Mangatoki Church, a timber church from around 1904 that seats up to 120, or in the smaller refurbished Stratford Court House, which holds about 60. The Village Green gives an outdoor option, with two gas barbecues plus power and lighting run from the barn. The Harrison Function Centre sits close to the church and takes the reception, with indoor and outdoor entertaining space and seating for around 150. The village streetscape does the work for photos, and everything is within a short walk. Bookings and packages run through the village office. It suits couples after a heritage backdrop and a ceremony with a bit of history to it.
