The Bungalow Coastal Retreat

The Bungalow is a coastal retreat on Lower Pitone Road, just off Surf Highway 45 a few minutes south of Oakura. The 1920s homestead looks out over the Taranaki coast, with Mt Taranaki behind and the Tasman in front, and the sunsets are a big part of why couples book it. Ceremonies are held on the lawns, which run down towards the sea, and a purpose-built event hall takes the reception with seating for up to 150 guests. There is plenty of parking and the whole place has a relaxed, away-from-it-all feel without being far from town. Accommodation is on site across nine guest rooms, so the wedding party and close family can stay over and make a weekend of it. Viewings are by appointment only. It suits couples after a coastal wedding with a homestead at its centre and their guests able to stay the night.
