The Flaxmill

The Flaxmill is a design-led private estate on fifteen acres of countryside near Oxford, about forty minutes from Christchurch. It was once a wartime flax processing site and has been reworked into a venue that keeps a raw, characterful feel. Weddings here are self-catered affairs. The estate supplies a large commercial kitchen along with tables, chairs, crockery, cutlery and glassware, so couples bring their guests, their food and their drinks and build the day their way. Staying over is part of the appeal. Around thirty luxury tents sleep up to sixty guests, turning the wedding into a weekend rather than a single evening. The whole property is booked for one celebration at a time.
