Waitangi Treaty Grounds

The Waitangi Treaty Grounds are one of the most significant places in the country, set on 60 hectares of subtropical grounds where the Bay of Islands opens out below. Alongside the museum and the carved meeting house, the grounds run weddings and functions through their own events team. There is a spread of spaces to choose from. The Tahuaroa Function Centre seats up to 190, the Learning Centre holds 100 and a premium clear marquee can take around 300 for a larger reception. Smaller gatherings work in the Whare Waka Cafe or the museum foyer, and couples can marry outdoors with the water and the flagstaff as the backdrop. Catering is done in house, running from grazing platters and carvery buffets through to hangi and plated gala dinners.
