Awapuni Function Centre

The Awapuni Function Centre sits in the park-like grounds of Awapuni Racecourse on the edge of Palmerston North, looking out over the track and the Manawatū wind farms. It is the region's largest purpose-built function complex, run by the on-site team at Creative Catering, and it handles a lot of the bigger weddings in the area. The complex has a spread of lounges at different sizes. The Silks Lounge is the largest and seats up to 550 for a banquet, with the Terrace, Eulogy and Awapuni lounges scaling down from there, so numbers from a small gathering up to a very large reception can all be accommodated. Catering is done in house by Creative Catering, who sit down with couples for a wedding consultation and look after the food and service on the day. It suits couples after a large, catered reception venue close to town, with the flexibility to match the room to the guest list.
