The Tōtara Grove

The Tōtara Grove sits at Muhunoa East, inland from Ōhau in the Horowhenua, a little south of Levin. It is a catered wedding venue built around a stand of native tōtara and planted gardens, with the ceremony, photos and reception all held on the property. Couples get exclusive use of the grounds. The head chef looks after the food from The Black Oven, so catering is handled in house, and there is no BYO alcohol. The site holds up to 120 guests. Pricing is set out in plain tiers. A short one-hour ceremony starts from $3,000 plus GST, a four-hour catered wedding from $5,999 plus GST, and a venue-only hire from the afternoon before to the morning after also starts from $3,000 plus GST. It suits couples after an outdoor wedding among the trees with the food and the setting sorted in one place, close to Levin and an easy drive from Kāpiti.
