Distinction Palmerston North Hotel & Conference Centre

The Distinction Palmerston North is a heritage hotel on Cuba Street, a short walk from the city's cafes, galleries and the riverside parks. The main building dates to 1927 and keeps a lot of its original character, which gives weddings a formal city backdrop rather than a rural one. The Carlton Rooms and Ballroom carry the larger receptions, seating from 40 up to 260 for a sit down dinner or holding as many as 500 for a cocktail reception. The hotel courtyard works for the ceremony and for pre-dinner drinks and canapes before everyone moves inside. Catering comes out of the in-house kitchen and Nosh restaurant, and packages scale from an intimate gathering through to a large formal do. With 85 rooms on site, guests and the wedding party can stay the night without leaving the building. It suits couples after a central Palmerston North venue that handles the room, the food and the accommodation in one place.
