Vintage Automotive Museum Wedding Venue in Invercargill
Bill Richardson Transport World
Bill Richardson Transport World turns one of the country's biggest private automotive collections into a wedding venue. The Invercargill museum fills its halls with restored trucks, petrol pumps and art deco detail, which gives couples a backdrop unlike any hotel ballroom. Photos among the vintage machinery are half the reason people book it. There are two venues to choose from, the main Transport World building or The Handle Bar at Classic Motorcycle Mecca, and between them they handle anything from an intimate gathering of forty up to a reception of six hundred. A dedicated venue liaison runs the planning, and the food comes from the on-site catering team. The couple can stay the night at The Lodges at Transport World, so there is no drive home when the music stops. The museum runs a Southland Wedding Expo each year, a sign of how settled weddings have become alongside the day visitors.
