Te Anau Lodge
Intimate Weddings at a Restored 1936 Former Convent in Te Anau
Te Anau Lodge
Te Anau Lodge is a 1936 former convent, relocated and restored on Howden Street about fifteen minutes walk from the Te Anau town centre. The old building keeps its character, from the library lounge to the chapel where breakfast is served each morning, and the nine ensuite bedrooms carry names like the Cathedral, the Vestry and Mother Superior's Room. Weddings are held in the lodge's spacious backyard, with the Luxmore Range and Lake Te Anau filling the view behind the couple. It suits an intimate Fiordland celebration where the guest list and the wedding party can stay on site. The lodge partners with local planner Stac Weddings, who handles the day from the first idea to the final dance. Couples can book the whole lodge exclusively for their group. Catering for events is arranged through the lodge's long-standing partner, Lakefront Cafe in Te Anau. The lodge closes over winter, so summer and shoulder-season dates are the ones to ask about.
