Tarureka Estate

Tarureka Estate sits at the foot of the Remutaka Range in Featherston, about an hour north of Wellington. The estate runs to four acres of manicured gardens and farmland, with three historic buildings at its centre and a barn that has been voted among the top ten barn wedding venues in the world. The second storey of the 1868 Loft Barn becomes a dining room for up to 120 guests, its soaring chapel like ceiling giving the space a romantic feel. Downstairs holds the dance floor and bar, while ceremonies can be held indoors or out among the private gardens. The 1870 Homestead sleeps up to eighteen across seven bedrooms, and a separate cottage adds more room, so the wedding party can stay on the estate. Viewings run by appointment.
