The Hideaway 201
Country Garden and Marquee Wedding Venue at Lochiel, Southland
The Hideaway 201
The Hideaway 201 sits on a rural block at Lochiel, on the flats between Invercargill and Winton, where an old farm shed was reworked into a country events venue. Owner Joanne McCallum has run it for more than twenty years, and the ten acres of gardens have grown into the main event: ponds, stone walls, archways, a waterfall and mature trees. Couples marry out in the gardens, then move to The Venue or the silk-lined marquee for the reception, with the Stag and Hen Bar as a third space and wet weather cover on hand. Numbers can run anywhere from an elopement of ten up to a party of 250. There is a restaurant on site, and the Platinum and Premium packages fold in seating, linen, florals and venue coordination. It reads as a proper Southland garden wedding, close enough to Invercargill and Winton for guests to get to easily, far enough out to feel private.
