The Kelvin Hotel

The Kelvin Hotel is a city hotel on Kelvin Street in the middle of Invercargill, and one of the town's steadiest wedding choices. It puts the ceremony, reception, bar, catering and beds in one building, which takes a lot of the logistics out of the day. The sixth floor function room is the draw, seating up to 100 guests for a reception with panoramic views over the city. An indoor ceremony can be added to any package, and the kitchen handles the food in house, from multi-course sit-down dinners through to buffets and canapes, with the licensed bar running until midnight. With 61 rooms upstairs, including suites and an apartment, guests can stay where the party is. The hotel offers a couple of set wedding packages or will build one to suit, run by its own events team.
