Zealandia

Zealandia Te Mara a Tane is a fenced urban ecosanctuary in Karori, only ten minutes from central Wellington, where weddings take place amid native bush and birdsong. Hiring the venue also supports the sanctuary's conservation work. The Heritage Lawn, with its valve tower, historic boatshed and forest fringed reservoir, hosts wedding parties of up to 200, while the Round Lawn offers a more secluded setting for ceremonies of up to 40. Two indoor venues, one overlooking the reservoir and one larger, provide cover if the weather turns. Refreshments come from the on site Rata Cafe, using local and seasonal produce. After the ceremony couples can venture into the valley for photographs among the forest and wildlife.
