Cable Bay Adventure Park

Cable Bay Adventure Park covers farmland and forest on Cable Bay Road, north east of Nelson city. Alongside its day job of skywire rides, quad bike tours and mountain biking, the park hosts weddings and functions, so a celebration here can fold in a bit of adventure for the guest list. The Base Cafe seats 60 inside with another 40 across the deck and surrounds, and a marquee on the lawn lifts capacity further. Four kilometres up a private 4x4 road, the Treetops Cafe seats up to 50 at 300 metres elevation, with big views, sunsets and complete privacy. It is reached only by the park's own vehicles, with return transport included in the venue hire. Catering comes from the Base Cafe kitchen, anything from grazing boards and canapes to gourmet barbecue buffets, and both venues are licensed until midnight. Part or full bookings of the park are available on request, and they can arrange shuttles to and from town.
